William Montgomery, ASAP Communications and Development Associate says, “I feel so lucky to be a part of this team and to be able to help ASAP fight for asylum seekers as my full-time job. Everyone’s passion for this work is absolutely contagious and has me leaving the office every day feeling inspired and invigorated.”
ASAP is excited to spotlight William Montgomery, our (very first!) Communications and Development Associate. William brings a diverse set of experiences to the Asylum Seeker Advocacy Project (ASAP), having worked as a recruiter for an executive search firm, an intern for a strategic communications consultancy, and an organizer for a gubernatorial campaign in his home state of Texas. A graduate from Harvard University, he wrote his undergraduate senior thesis on immigrant participation in political campaigns and parties. William will be heading to Tulane Law School in the fall, where he hopes to further his interest in fighting for immigrants’ rights through legal aid and advocacy. During his free time, you can find William running, going to the movies, and working his way through cookbooks.
At a time when ASAP is growing rapidly as an organization to serve more asylum-seeking families than ever before, William provides much-needed communications and systems support. We are lucky to have William on ASAP’s team, and we are excited to see what he accomplishes in law school and beyond.
