ASAP has released a four part video series about how to navigate the immigration court process. The Spanish-language videos are designed to help asylum seekers understand this often confusing and difficult system.
ASAP created these videos in response to the needs of the asylum seekers in our online communities, after answering hundreds of questions per year about what to expect in immigration court hearings.
The new videos include general advice about immigration court hearings, what to expect at a first preliminary “master calendar” hearing, and what to expect at subsequent master calendar hearings. The final video covers the merits hearing (also known as an individual hearing) — the hearing when the asylum seeker has a chance to present their evidence and testimony to an immigration judge.
